Keizuna - Falling Possum Empty
PostSubject: Keizuna - Falling Possum   Keizuna - Falling Possum EmptyFri Apr 21, 2017 6:36 am

BYOND Key: Keeper of the Keys
Character Name: Keizuna
Character Age: 21
Rank: B
Creation Points: 16
(IC) Purpose for Jutsu: Keizuna has always been a user of C ranked and lower techniques, outside of supplementary jutsu such as clones. He knows the power of fundamentals, and as a figure in the village that has taught so many people, he's aiming to create a vast assortment of new supplementary techniques to teach their forces, to ready for the oncoming battle with Iwagakure. In particular, he wanted to create a defensive technique that could be used to save the gennin and himself from extremely fast iwagakure opponents.
Jutsu Name: Falling Possum
Intended Rank: D
Jutsu Description: A simple and straightforward technique where the user uses the momentum of a blocked blow to allow themselves to fall over, rolling backwards to avoid further damage.
Gameplay Description: [D-Rank]
Description: See Above
Statistics:  Immediate Reaction. (Occurs directly after you're about to take damage. As the first damage instance occurs, and possibly before others)
Uses action and movement.
3 Stamina cost. The user performs a specialized full block against an incoming concussive damage type. (Non slash, pierce, fire, lightning, ect.) This block reduces damage by half and causes the user to fall flat on their back before rolling backwards, moving one tile away.  This causes any successive attacks to miss instantly, unless they affect an area, Due to the unpredictable and unexpected nature of forcing yourself to fall over.  This cannot be used on attacks from directly behind or above.

The technique can additionally be prepared by skipping a full turn. (Movement and attack.) To fall into the Possum Stance while in Possum Stance
the user is primed and ready. They can react only by instinct, and the feeling of touch. This allows them to perform the Falling Possum technique the instant an attack hits them. Requiring only 1/3rd agility to react. (Still does not apply to attacks from above them or behind.) This version of the technique can block all types of attack that aren't area of affect that the user can normally block. (Perhaps aided with an armguard should the attack be weapon based), including fire and weapons. Damage blocked this way is reduced to 1/4th. Initiating the Possum Stance block requires an additional movement, but not the action for that turn.
(So you use the movement+action turn to set the stance. then upon triggering it, just a movement.)

[cooldown of 5 turns.]

Perk Requirements: None.
Jutsu Icon: Went through the effort of making one. but can't post it for 7 days. Make it a funny possum.
Reference Material: Martial arts, living world Possums.

Uh, where to begin.
Raising stamina cost to 6.

After being hit, you are knocked back and immune to non aoe attacks., okay.

Possum stance still required 1/3 agility. This does not allow you to block stuff that you can't normally block.

5 turn cooldown.

Alright ,changed it up. I edited some stuff around slightly to make it not just a worse/another kawarimi. 6 stamina feels a little steep for a block/slight movement though. Kawarimi itself only costs 2. Blocking 1 I think.
